Lair of the White Worm
Movie runtime: 93 minutes

In a remote corner of England's lavish Peak District, a mysterious skull is unearthed. But even more mysterious is the snakelike Lady Sylvia who steals the skull, then engages in erotic worship of her pagan god, The White Worm, who hungers for the taste of virginal flesh. Adapted from the novel by Bram Stoker. Synopsis Credit

GENRE
  • 1988 Thriller/Horror

PARANORMALITY
  • White Worm God
  • White Worm Worshiper

SEXUALITY
  • Depraved. Consider yourself warned.

REVIEW
  • Initially hard to follow due to the strong accents - not sure where it is taking place, Australia or UK
  • Extremely disturbing
  • Jarring cuts to badly edited photoshop-esque animations
  • Horrifying religious reference
  • Laughable sexual reference
  • Dream sequence with a red felt tip pen being suggestive of male genitalia
  • Virgin sacrifice scene featuring a dominatrix with a strap-on

This is a must see (bonus with a young Hugh Grant) - if you can make it through. It came to us half viewed. Apparently, the previous viewers couldn't make it past the initial crucifix-snake-nun-roman rape scene.

This review by Andrew Borntreger at Badmovies.org is also very informative/hilarious. He put a lot more time into his analysis than I did, for sure.

Did you watch this movie too?

Bwahahahaha What the hell kind of movies are you guys renting? I think I'll pass on this one. Sounds wacky. Some big names there though, I remember Catherine Oxenburg from Dynasty. Wasn't her father some European Count, or was that the character's father?

The really bad ones are the only kind of horror movies I will watch! I'm a girly girl that way... don't want to be really scared.

I defiantly have to check this movie out! And a young Hugh Grant-defiantly need to see it. Great review.

Thanks so much for delving into my head. It's scary in here sometimes, so it is nice to have company! Don't step on the zephyr...
